STERLING & EVANS, SOLICITORS.

HAROLD S. EVANS

COMMISSIONER FOR OATHS.

19th February 1920

Dear Sir,

We are in receipt of your letter of the 13th inst and thank you for sending for our inspection the copies of the Hongkong Code of Civil Procedure and the Evidence Act. We now return these documents.

We observe that "matters testamentary" are excepted in the Code (Section 3) and that the Evidence Act does not refer to deeds.

Inasmuch as it will be a considerable undertaking for our client to execute the Power of Attorney before a Notary as he lives in the heart of Wales, we should be glad if you could tell us whether, if the power were lodged in the Central Office according to the usual practice, the Hongkong Authorities would accept the official copy without further formality.

We are,

Your obedient servants,

STERLING & EVANS
